...i SCREAM for ICE-CREAM!!

...the music you can hear from neighborhoods away.... the kids have bionic ears when it comes to the DING DONG CART!.... brings back memories of last year when the truck would pull down the street quite often and Dave would say..." ohh nooooooooo NOT AGAIN!!.... the kids usually would run to Daddy and pull his wallet off the counter and hand it to him... "pick from the dollar menu kids"!!... LOL.... always had to laugh at that... cuz the kids always wanted the ones with gumballs for eyes.... and those were always more expensive!!!.. well the truck came down the street the other day.. I think the first time of the season.. and the kids were thrilled... I let them get what ever they wanted... and told them they had to share with Daddy!!!

month two...

Today I find myself once again sitting at the computer knowing the 2nd month anniversary is today of Dave‘s passing.. I can check off another month that I survived the excruciating pain and heartache that this has caused me and my children. And boy I wish I can turn back the time… like Carson said to me a few days ago… MaMa, “ Why did daddy have to go“? “Why did God take Daddy“? I don’t think God knew what he was doing!.. He took the wrong DADDY!!!….I’m so mad at God right now ... I said;” its certainly ok to be upset and mad“… no one knows why he took Daddy?.. But maybe it’s because Daddy was SPECIAL!.. He didn’t buy that answer, as it has been used way too much these days…. and was thinking for a moment all quiet and he then asks…,” Ma Ma.. Do you think you can RESTART the EARTH?… I choked up! And I knew exactly what he meant.. If I had the powers to turn back time I certainly would and make our family whole again…. !!!! Its been quite a roller coaster ride of ups and downs these past couple of months.... Everyday brings something new to the table whether it’s a telemarketer phone call asking for Dave… mail that comes in with his name on it….a ton of paperwork still… waiting for the official autopsy report… etc…… And then there are the 3 little people that I look at everyday and tell them we are going to be ok…but at the same time trying to convince myself just that!… Each one of my kids brings out some quality of Dave in them, it shines through their eyes and makes me smile knowing I have a piece of Dave still living ... helping me get through each day!

Carson and I were on the driveway looking up in the clouds one day.. And they were extra PUFFY as Carson says.. And he looked up and saw a boat sinking? He pointed it out it out to me and said,” and there are people on it? And when I looked… I did see his boat full of people!! ..he was pointing again… and there I saw a “person” on this boat with WINGS!!… Carson immediately saw it too.. and waved up to Daddy.. I wish I had the camera for that one… then before I knew it.. The clouds changed.. Carson says,”. there go’s Daddy he looks like a “CRAB” now..…. LOL… that made me laugh… but it did look like a crab!! he has got one imagination that kid… and keeps us cracking up!….the good thing is . .. The boat stretched out and it didn’t look like it was sinking anymore…! We are all here standing… and still taking it one day at a time!!
… I miss the sounds of your car pulling into the driveway.. The sound of the garage door going up… knowing you were home!… I miss the dog hiding when she heard your footsteps… she is looking for you.. She has rolled in your clothes again in the closet…( I think she knows you are not coming home) and dug a few more holes in your yard.. I miss your phone calls asking me “what’s for dinner”?.. all the little things you don’t realize you take for granted… I just MISS YOU! PERIOD!

Daddy's car is in good hands......

I had to take a photo of Dave's new car as it left our garage yesterday... He only got to drive it for a few months... he loved that car and I remember when he brought it home ....we all got into it and took a drive around the neighborhood a few times... Chase thought he was going to get it in 6 years when he turned 16... But It's in good hands now... cousin Matt has it .. keeping it all in the family! Thanks Matt... I know Dave is happy your driving it... and I'm sure you will bring it up to good speed.... Love ya... xoxo

Crowns for a CURE!....

Madison and her friends attended CROWNS for a CURE at Southington High School for the American Cancer Society 10th Anniversary Relay for Life. They walked around the track quite a few times showing their support in the fight against cancer.

...one brave Chick!

A few weeks ago.. Madison and I were recipients of a "ONE BRAVE CHICK" bravery kit in the mail! This clever package arrived and I was amazed on how this company has used its tee shirts to send a very special message... They have created a brand, an apparel line and on line site where women can go to shop, share and above all.. inspire courage in each other... this company is committed to empowering women and the people in their lives who celebrate their courage and life-stories from triumphs to heartaches...

be real. be brave. be you!

Thank you to Sharla Walker for our tee's we LOVE THEM!

my GRADUATES! ...2008

Carson wore a very special shirt I made for him. I cut a tie out of Dave’s dress shirt and sewed it on a tee shirt.. Added the words on the back that read,

“When I grow up, I want to be just like my Dad!“

…Carson was thrilled to wear a piece of Daddy and was excited to use his briefcase and cell phone!

Yesterday was a very special day for two of my kids.. Chase and Carson graduated, Chase from 5th Grade and Carson from Pre school. It was difficult to be in two places at once…but I managed to see both and get to two different schools in time for some pictures. It was sad for me as their mom and some what of a difficult day as you can only imagine…attending this without Dave. A very important milestone in my children’s lives without their Dad being there was very challenging, but we all got through it. Chase's school put on a very nice picnic lunch with hot dogs and burgers, DJ and a talent show... the kids signed the year books and had a great time!

Miss you ALOT DADDY!!.... WE LOVE YOU ! XOXOXO

Little Miss Southington 2008/ ADA Dancers of the Year

Little Miss Southington 2008

I finally got a photo done of Madison in her crown and banner. She won the title of Little Miss Southington May 3rd just a week after Dave passed away. Madison took center stage answering the question," How do your friends make you feel special?.. Madison answers, "My friends make me feel special, by giving me hugs after my father passed away". **gasp**!! I sat there wiping back the tears.. just thinking how someone so young can be so strong and poised. She performed her tap solo to Zip A de do dah.... and brought the house down! She had so many family members there, friends from the dance studio.. her school friends and neighbors to come see her.... And the winner is... Madison Yurgaitis! she smiled ear to ear..as if for a moment she put aside her sadness and was able to smile for Daddy!....he was there the whole time saying YOU DID IT MADISON...you did IT!!.... CONGRATULATIONS!... (thanks Robbie (next to Madison and Chase in the photos) for spending the whole day with my kids!! xoxox)

American Dance Awards Jr. Male Dancer of the Year 2008

It was also a special day for Chase as well. He was performing at the American Dance Awards competition in W.Hartford that same day... Dave was going to take him and be the stage dad .... ...but instead his Dance teacher (seen in the photos) helped him that day!.. Chase did his Tap solo to Dancing Fool.. did a FABULOUS JOB... .. we waited patiently until the awards were announced.... crossing our fingers.....ADA Junior Male Dancer of the Year goes to: Chase Yurgaitis from Rob Merante's Academy of Dance!... can you just see me now... PROUD MOM !!! and for sure a KODAK MOMENT!!.... although Dave didn't get to see his son win...He knew just how good he was... he had no doubts that Chase could pull it off!!...and HE DID!!!!

Madison also is American Dance Awards Young Female Dancer of the Year 2008, she will be attending the Nationals in Boston Mass July 1st and 2nd...She won that title in March and I am so glad Dave was there and not sleeping in the audience when she won that.. hehehe!! miss you DADDY!! XOXOXOXO

...cards for Daddy and Uncle D!

... I knew it was coming... the backpacks always have some kind of goodies in there for Holidays/ Fathers Day... but actually the kids were excited to show me what they made!! Carson came home first and he couldn't get off the bus fast enough.. He said he made a card for Fathers Day and he is giving it to Uncle D (Dave's brother) he was so thrilled he cant wait to show me, he made him a key chain too! ... then the other two get off the bus... and Madison pulls out the card she made for Daddy and began to tell me that her teacher was a little hesitant to do cards this year seeing there is two students who lost fathers in her class... Madison encouraged her to do so... and the class made them!....She also made one for Uncle D as well..... I had to hold back the tears these cards really meant alot this year... then Chase pulls out his... and then well you know .....you can just imagine mom was a WRECK!.... so here they are Daddy!!...hope you have a computer in HEAVEN to see these! xoxoxox LOVE YOU!
